Meet Leslie

Leslie grew up in a town of 1500 just south of Ft. Worth called Itasca, Texas . After graduation she went  the University of  North Texas in Denton where she completed her undergrad degree in biology and history.  Leslie has been working in the medical field for about 10 years now in a couple of emergency rooms and at the Blood Center of Central Texas.  She started her Master's in Social Work at UT almost 3 years hoping to work with people who have disabilities. She kept  her job at the Blood Center educating high school and college students about blood donations.  Leslie completed her first S.W. internship at a domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center called Hope Alliance.  It services the entire Williamson County area and sparked her interest in working with survivors of abuse and on women's empowerment projects.  Leslie has always wanted to travel to Africa and this internship seemed to be the perfect fit.
